Elk Grove Spring Music Festival canceled by event organizer

A recently announced music festival will no longer be happening, according to the organizers.

The Elk Grove Spring Music Festival, a one-day concert hosted by A-List Party Experience, or APEX, initially scheduled for Saturday was canceled, concert organizers said Wednesday.

Scheduled performers included the Bay Area’s Agape Soul, Chicago’s Carla Fleming and the headliner, Boston’s Noel Goudin. Sacramento band, Hayez, was also scheduled on the lineup, But the band’s vocalist, Alicia Hall-Huff, said in the weeks prior to the event’s postponement that the band would not be able to perform.

Michael Craft, director of talent and vending for event organizers APEX, said that the cancellation of the event was a “business decision.”

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we were forced to make a business decision and cancel the Spring MusicFest,” Craft said.

The festival, which was organized in partnership with the Cosumnes Community Services District, would have been APEX’s first spring festival. Last year in September, the group hosted its inaugural jazz festival, which attracted 700 people.

Organizers said that they intend to host another jazz concert later this year. Craft confirmed that it was planned.

“We will still be having the 2nd annual Elk Grove Jazz Festival scheduled on September 28th,” Craft said. “We want to thank all of our wonderful supporters. We apologize if this has caused any inconvenience.”
