Robert J. Moore

MALTA — Robert J. Moore, 89, of Malta passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012.

Born March 13, 1923, in Englewood, N. J., he was the son of the late William and Catherine Moore.

Bob was a staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, serving in World War II. He was honorably discharged in October 1945 from Marine Wing Service Squadron Nine, 9th MAW, FMF. Bob participated in the capture and occupation of Saipan, Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

He resided in New City, Rockland County, from 1953 to 1991. Bob was a sales representative for Dennison Manufacturing Co. in Massachusetts.

He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid fan of Notre Dame.

He was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa Breda; sister, Jean Maetrich; and son-in-law, Frank Zimmerman.

Bob is survived by his wife, Grace Moore; his daughters, Terry- Ann Zimmerman of Middleton and Kathleen Greco ( Glen) of Ballston Spa; son-in-law, Daryl Breda of Clifton Park; grandchildren, Patrick, Molly, Nicole, Joseph, Daniel, Glen and Alaina; greatgrandson, Giovanni; sister, Nancy Sonzogni (Charles) of New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9: 30 a. m. Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Milton Avenue in Ballston Spa, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Burial will follow in Ballston Spa Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p. m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Armer Funeral Home Inc., 39 E. High St., Ballston Spa.
