Anita (Nete) Flanders
SCHUYLERVILLE — Anita (Nete) Flanders, 87, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at the Home of the Good Shepard surrounded by her loving family.
Born April 11, 1935, in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of Christine and Frederick Wells.
She was a homemaker and took care of children in her home. She loved her garden and was active in the Quaker Springs senior citizens and the Women’s Guild for the Dutch Reformed Church of Schuylerville.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Eileen Swartwout; her husband of 68 years, Walter Flanders; and her brother, William Wells.
She is survived by her son, Carl and his wife, Carol, of Wilton, seven grandchildren, Donna (Michael) Kennedy of Gansevoort, Dawn Staigar (Bob Trapp) of Ballston Spa, Lisa ( Doug) Lourie of Greenwich, David Brown of Colorado, Dale (Emma) Swartwout of Saratoga, Craig Brown of Chestertown, Kim (Jessie) Varsalone of Maryland; seven great- grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A luncheon get- together will be held at 1 p. m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Dutch Reformed Church in Schuylerville. A burial service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of the Wilton and Saratoga Springs Home of the Good Shepard for the special care that was given not only to Anita, but also to the whole family while going through this difficult time. They are truly special people. Also, a special thanks to the Hospice nurses who, with their dedication, allowed us to spend more time with mom. You are all angels in our eyes.
