Sheriff Patrick A. Russo, Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen Jimino and Rensselaer County Chairman of the Legislature Stan Brownell view the equipment for Project Lifesaver, a public safety program designed to protect and locate missing persons that may suffer from Alzheimer’s, dementia, Autism or other conditions that may result in wandering. The program consists of a wristwatch sized transmitter worn by the individual, and specialized receivers deployed by law enforcement that allow the individual to be located in a timely manner.
