It seems that Hillary Clinton, like most national Democrats, is out for herself, more power and more money. She also has a very liberal agenda, so it looks like we will be in at least four more years of the Obama type sluggish economy, and more terrorism. Donald Trump, on the other hand, is trying to do the right things for America and make it great again. He has already made his money and doesn’t need any more. I have looked at Trump’s economic blueprint on line and it is very promising.
••• Concerning the police and the violence: the uniform doesn’t make the man, the man makes the uniform. There are good cops and bad cops. In or out of uniform the bad ones are violent. They feel power when they put on the uniform. They give their force a bad name. They love to handcuff and punch and kick people and intimidate them. They are supposed to help people; instead, people fear them. They lie and expect fellow officers to cover for them. They should be fired, charged with assault and put in jail.
••• Donald Trump only has his own back, and he is more dangerous to the American people than al-Qaeda and Daesh [i.e. ISIS] together.
••• The convention is another example of Trump’s thinking that all Americans are stupid, when his wife mimics Michelle Obama’s speech from eight years ago.
••• They’re making a big thing about Trump’s wife using some words Michelle Obama used eight years ago. For one thing, they’re not just Michelle Obama’s words. They’re people’s words, and a lot of people say these words, and I imagine someone said these words before Michelle Obama did. But because it’s Trump’s wife the media is making a big thing about it. Why don’t they make a big thing about Michelle Obama and the stuff that she does?
••• I love this quote I saw in your newspaper: “The question may not be who will keep us safe, but who is least likely to make things worse. The choice is not as simple as it may seem. Words and policies are only part of the equation. Temperament and character are paramount, as is wisdom based on experience.”
••• President Obama, do something. We’re tired of these attacks, the funerals the memorials. We’re tired of your speeches and rhetoric. It’s time for action, and it’s long overdue for you. Start acting like a leader of this country. Your willingness to expedite this cancer in the country is truly alarming. History will show that your failure to act responsibly has contributed to the killing of these police officers in this country, and thousands of people worldwide.
••• Hillary wants a charity government. Instead of people giving their money, the government just takes it. Trump wants a working government where people work for their own money.
••• Mr. Trump is an expert in bankruptcy, and all he can think of is the millions he can make when he becomes president and bankrupts this country.
••• Republicans complain about companies that outsource jobs to other companies, but they ignore companies that in-source livingwage jobs with benefits to slave labor in American prisons.
••• Law enforcement is under attack. They are being systematically executed. Law enforcement is a minority and deserves the protections all minorities get. So why is the Department of Justice not calling these killings hate crimes? When other minorities are killed because they are a minority, it’s called a hate crime. The police are a minority and are being executed because they are a minority. The president rushes in when the black community is targeted. Why doesn’t he rush in when the police are targeted?
••• We are living in a zero-population growth area. Not only do we need a tax cap, but a cable cap and an electricity cap on National Grid, and a water bill cap and gas cap, and caps on all these things that are ripping average people off.
••• Why did Sound-Off print a call that said “Hooray for Black Lives Matter?” Black Lives Matter is killing cops, and yet Sound-Off put this in. This should never have been put in. What is wrong with you? You shouldn’t put stuff like that in your Sound-Off.
••• When Donald Trump starts a world war it won’t be World War III. It’ll be World War IV, because George W. Bush started World War III, which we’re still fighting.
