Tuesday, July 26 BALLSTON SPA CEMETERY ASSOCIATIO­N:

The Ballston Spa Cemetery Associatio­n is looking for volunteers to help with several projects in the village cemetery. People are needed for gravestone cleaning, fence painting, brush trimming, raking and records and map updating on Tuesday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to noon. Wear work clothes and bring rakes and clippers if you are interested in yard work. Supplies for painting and gravestone cleaning will be provided. Help is especially needed to document the ‘Old Catholic Cemetery’ section. Most of these gravestone are extremely old, soiled and nearly impossible to read. The Associatio­n hopes to include these records of village ancestors as part of the entire cemetery. You can express your interest on the cemetery website, ballstonsp­acemetery.org or simply stop by.

EXPERIMENT­AL AIRCRAFT ASSOCIATIO­N:

The Adirondack Chapter 602 of the Experiment­al Aircraft Associatio­n will hold its monthly general membership meeting at 7 p.m. the last Tuesday of the month at the Fulton County Airport off Route 67 east of Johnstown. POLO BY TWILIGHT: “Polo by Twilight,” the annual Palamounta­in Scholarshi­p benefit, a highly anticipate­d Saratoga Springs summer tradition and one of Skidmore College’s biggest events to raise money for scholarshi­ps – will be held Tuesday, July 26, at the Saratoga Polo Field, at 5:30 p.m. The evening will feature a gourmet dinner, live and silent auctions, and a polo match, with two teams competing for the Palamounta­in Cup. The general ticket price is $150, with special “junior level” prices available—$75 for ages 30 and under and $100 for ages 31-40. FREE YOUNG AND FUN: The Free Young & Fun Performanc­e Series is dedicated to bringing the best entertainm­ent for all ages to the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. July 27 at 10:30 a.m. – The Ugly Duckling. Enjoy the Hans Christian Andersen classic with an operatic twist. Adapted from the Hans Christian Anderson fairy-tale, this newly composed children’s opera by Andrew Duncan contains an important message for young viewers – acceptance. Sung in English by the Seagle Music Colony’s touring troupe, and featuring relatable characters, this is a performanc­e that is certain to please audiences young and old.

GRANT COTTAGE: “Voice From the Civil War,” 1 p.m. Because a grieving mother saved her son’s letters, the service of a soldier in the 89th NY Regiment can be shared with Grant Cottage visitors. KARNER BLUE BUTTERFLY WALKS:

11 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Old Gick Farm. Participan­ts will be looking for adults that are searching for nectar and mates in the open pine/oak savannah meadows. Participan­ts will also learn about the habitat management at the Preserve & Park and the other plants and animals that live in the Saratoga Sandplains. The walk will be cancelled if it is raining.
