SUMMER READING CHALLENGE: Building on the success of last year’s New York State Assembly Summer Reading Challenge, Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner (D-Round Lake) will be once again host a series of reading events around the 113th Assembly District to promote her Second Annual Summer Reading Challenge. The New York State Assembly’s Summer Reading Challenge is hosted in conjunction with the Summer Reading at New York Libraries program. To complete the challenge, students must read at least 15 minutes each day on at least 40 days during the months of July and August. BOTTLE DRIVE: A bottle drive to benefit Operation Adopt a Soldier is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, at Nickelback Warehouse, 131 Saratoga Ave., located behind the South Glens Falls Hannaford store. Bottles do not have to be sorted. Operation Adopt a Soldier raises money to send care packages to troops throughout the U.S. and overseas. CORINTH LIBRARY BOOK SALE: The Friends of the Corinth Free Library announce that they will hold their annual book and bake sale on Saturday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the lawn of the library.
