EAST GREENBUSH » Lindsey Frank scored twice and goalkeeper Liz McIntyre made three saves to preserve a 4-0 shutout Saratoga Springs field hockey in a win over host Columbia in a Suburban Council match. Maggie Conway and Grace Ziehnert also scored while Mimi Liebers and Erin McCarthy provided assists for the Blue Streaks (7-2, 8-2). Columbia (0-9, 0-11) goalkeeper Suzanne Clarke made 15 saves. BURNT HILLS-BALLSTON LAKE 5, GUILDERLAN­D 0 » Danielle Kempf scored two goals, Caroline Miller had a goal and an assist and Sadie Mitchell had two assists to lead the Spartans in a shutout. Sydney Pleemenik and Christina Pedone scored the other goals for Burnt Hills (8-3).

Marcus Griffin shot a 40 to medal for the Patriots.

Katherine Bielawa had seven kills, three aces in the win while teammates Becca Abel had six kills, 19 digs and Ruby Daley had four kills, four aces and 13 assists. QUEENSBURY 3, SCHUYLERVI­LLE 0 » Taylor Graham had seven kills and Lexi Doyle added nine assists but the Black Horses dropped a Foothills Council match to the Spartans 25-18, 25-21, 25-13. SHENENDEHO­WA 3, SHAKER 0» The Plainsmen earned a sweep by the score of 255, 25-8, 25-11 to remain undefeated (8-0). Mary Talty had six aces and four kills for Shen while Hannah Feit had 30 assists and 2 blocks. BURNT HILLS-BALLSTON LAKE 3, COLONIE 0 » The Spartans swept the Raiders 25-7, 25-14, 25-22 Thursday evening to remain undefeated (9-0, 12-2) in league play. Ashlynn Apffiel had 10 kills to lead Burnt Hills and teammate Lexi Pawlusik recorded six kills, four aces and 11 digs. Madison Marshall had four kills, six digs for Colonie (4-6).

SHENENDEHO­WA 3, BETHLEHEM1» The Plainsmen beat the Eagles 25-20, 16-25, 2517, 25-15 in a Suburban Council match. Shen (6-2) was led by Brendan Spulnick with 12 kills, Donovan Suguitan had 14 kills and Parker Hill added eight digs. Bethlehem (6-2) was led by Duncan Homer’s 29 assists.

Meagan Schmid scored an unassisted goal for the Saints while goalkeeper Kara Colvin made a match-high 15 saves. MECHANICVI­LLE 3, TAMARAC 1» Mackenzie Bowie, Michaelena Depasquale and Brynn Murphy scored for the Red Raiders (7-1-1, 7-11) in the Wasaren League win. Lauren Hunt notched a goal for Tamarac off an assist from Lauren Lockrow. GUILDERLAN­D 1, BALLSTON SPA 0 » Jamie Golderman tallied the only goal of the contest off an Amanda Rice assist to give the Dutchmen (4-3-3) a win. Ballston Spa (4-6-1) goalkeeper Theresa Louks made a match-high 13 saves in the contest.

Annalise Pepper won the 500 free and helped with the 400 free relay victory for the Scotties. SHENENDEHO­WA 99, SARATOGA SPRINGS 85 » Lauren Sposlili won the 200 and 500 free for the Plainsmen in a win over the rival Blue Streaks. Saratoga Springs was led by divers Felicity Ryan (1st), Adelle Feeley (2nd) and Jennifer Van Horne (4th) and Taylor Patnode, who won the 50 and 100 free races.

SIENA 2, FAIRFIELD 1 » Paolino Curto won’t soon forget his 20th birthday. The junior striker came off the bench to score the gamewinnin­g goal in the 80th minute to lead Siena Soccer past Fairfield 2-1 in the MAAC opener for both teams at Siena Turf Field.

Sophomore captain J.C. Obregon also scored for the Saints (3-5-2, 1-0) which won their conference opener for the fourth time in the past five seasons. Junior goalkeeper Aleksa Radosavlje­vic made four saves for Siena, which earned its first win over Fairfield (2-42, 0-1) in six years.

NCAA women’s soccer

SIENA 2, MARIST 1 (OT) » For the third time in six road matches this season, Siena Women’s Soccer scored the tying goal with less than three minutes remaining in regulation. The Saints then went on to score the golden goal just 98 seconds into overtime to shock MAAC rival Marist 2-1 in Poughkeeps­ie.

Junior midfielder Madison Vasquez tied the match with just 17 seconds remaining in regulation, and sophomore midfielder Gabby Albano won it 1:55 later for surging Siena (5-3-3, 3-0) which ran its unbeaten streak to five on the strength of its fourth straight win. PACE 2, SAINT ROSE 1 » Host Pace University scored the game-winner with less than 11 minutes remaining to upend The College of Saint Rose 2-1 in Northeast-10 Conference action Wednesday.

Freshman midfielder Nina Predanic (Brezice, Slovenia) accounted for the Golden Knights (5-4/2-4 NE-10) goal that tied the game in the 17th minute.

KIM WINS MAAC AWARD » Siena Men’s Golf senior Scott Kim has been named the MAAC Golfer of the Month for September. The River Edge, New Jersey native becomes the first Siena Men’s Golf student athlete to earn the honor since Justin Deitz won the award for October 2011.

Kim picked up right where he had left off from this spring when he sank the decisive putt on the first playoff hole of the MAAC Championsh­ips to clinch Siena’s fourth title.

NCAA women’s golf

LEE WINS MAAC AWARD » University at Albany women’s golfer Annie Songeun Lee has been named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Golfer of the Month for September.

The junior tied for second place individual­ly to help UAlbany to a fourth place finish out of 12 teams at the Rutgers Women’s Invitation­al (9/16-17).

DEVILS TO WEAR THROWBACK JERSEYS » The Albany Devils will pay tribute to the hockey heritage of the Capital Region with two “Throwback Nights” during the 2016-17 season. The Devils will wear special Albany River Rats jerseys on Saturday, November 26 and Saturday, March 25.

The uniforms feature the iconic River Rats emblem on the chest with the Albany Devils and New Jersey Devils logos on the shoulders. The “Throwback Nights” will also include a 1990’s theme integrated into the game presentati­on. The River Rats were the AHL affiliate of the Devils during most of the 1990s, winning a Calder Cup Championsh­ip during the 1994-95 season.
