There’s a new place to get fit in the Spa City, and it has plenty of different options.

Saratoga Bootcamp Bike & Box Studio, which opened last June, is located at 250 Washington St. in Saratoga Springs, in Suite 101 of the West Hill Plaza.

The business will have a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce at 4 p.m. on April 6 to celebrate its grand opening, featuring refreshments by 2West and raffle giveaways. This event will also serve as an open house for anyone to come check out the studio and try a workout, until 6 p.m.

One of the most popular offerings at this studio gym is the HIIT 30, a half-hour high intensity interval training session. Designed for all fitness abilities, gym-goers spend three minutes at a series of eight different stations. This circuit- style exercise allows for flexible class times, a feature thatmany Saratoga Bootcamp Bike & Box Studio customers appreciate.

Other workouts include cycling, kickboxing and a new “Punch & Crunch” ab-focused class.

Most Saratoga Bootcamp Bike & Box Studio classes are instructed by founder and owner Heather LaFountain, who has been in the fitness industry for more than 20 years teaching group fitness classes and personal training at local health clubs.

LaFountain has a degree from Castleton State College with a major in exercise science and minor in health/nutrition. She is also certified in personal training and small group training.

In 2009, LaFountain started Saratoga Bootcamp, her first entrepreneurial endeavor, using Spa State Park, East Side Recreation Park and other facilities as a venue for her exercise classes.

Having a space of her own has always been a goal for LaFountain, who is happy to now have her clients come to Saratoga Bootcamp Bike & Box Studio.

“It makes it a lot easier for me, as well as my clients. It was just time to do something different, be able to have a space that I can do whatever I want with, as opposed to having to work with whoever I’m renting from,” LaFountain said. “It’s allowed me to do a lot of different things.”

LaFountain said that so far her clients are loving it. “They’re lov-

ing the flexibility,” she said.

The small class sizes at Saratoga Bootcamp Bike & Box Studio allow for individualized attention within a supportive teamenvironment. Modifications can be made to suit every fitness level.

“There’s something for everybody here,” LaFountain said, mentioning short and long classes, cycling and boot camp, an interval training workout upon which the business was originally built.

Saratoga Bootcamp Bike & Box Studio is filled with a lot of unique equipment, from TRX Suspension Trainers to the 12-pad BoxMaster to a high-tech system called Performance IQ, which syncs up individuals’ heart ratemonitors to a screen in the gym that shows how hard each participant is working.

LaFountain’s goal with Saratoga Bootcamp Bike & Box Studio, something she’s already found she is achieving, is to help her clients maintain consistency in their fitness routines by offering doable and enjoyable classes.

“It’s fun, it’s different every day,” she said. “You’re not going to do the same class twice, and you’re always going to have the assistance of a personal trainer. You’re not going to just be lost in a group fitness class. I have a relationship with all of my clients. There’s a lot of oneonone attention.”

Customers can sign up for Saratoga Bootcamp Bike & Box Studio classes online, or just drop in during any HIIT 30 session.

Saratoga Bootcamp Bike & Box Studio pricing is based at $10 to $15 per class, or less when purchased as part of a five- or 10- class card. There is also an unlimited class rate of $99 permonth, with a contract. Newcomers can also try a week of unlimited classes with a $25 sevenday pass.

Discounts are given to students, teachers, nurses, doctors, military, seniors, police and firefighters.

LaFountain can also provide private personal training or small group training outside of class hours.

Classes are offeredMonday through Saturday, with times varying in the early morning, late morning, lunchtime, late afternoon and evening.
