Glens Falls Gladiators indoor
football tryouts: The Glens Falls Gladiators will conduct open tryouts Saturday, March 18from3-5p.m. at Chase Sports Complex in South Glens Falls. Registration costs $60 and will begin at 2p.m. For more information on the team, visit website at www.glensfallsgladiators.com.
Bacon Hill Bonanza: The Bacon Hill Bonanza 5k and 10k Road Races are April 8. The race, now in its fifth year, has become a major event on the spring road racing calendar, with more than 300runners expected this year. Registration is $25by March 15th and $30after that, including dayof-race registration. The first 300pre-registered entrants are guaranteed a Performance T-shirt. The fun run is $5(no T-shirt, but a limited supply will be available for purchase). The 5K and 10K runs and 5K walk all get under way at 10 a.m. The kids’ one-mile Fun Run (ages 14and under) kicks off at 9:30a.m. For more information and to register, go to: www.baconhillbonanza.com. ValleyCats National Anthem
auditions: The Tri- City ValleyCats are set to host their 7th Annual National Anthem tryouts at Crossgates Mall on Saturday, April 8from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30p.m. Registration will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and will be located on the lower level outside of Lord & Taylor. The top five finalists will have their performances videotaped, which will then be placed online for a fan vote. The top vote- getter will receive the opportunity to perform on one of the biggest nights of the year at “The Joe,” such as Opening Night and the 4th of July, in front of an average crowd of 5,000-plus fans. The rest of the finalists will be awarded the chance to sing at another night during the season.
