It is becoming a popular option for more homeowners and institutional/commercial applications. The focus of the evening’s discussion will be an exploration of race in America through the lens of a majority perspective about what it means to be white and the concept of a “default culture” in a multicultural society. Friday, March 24 ASSOCIATION FOR TALENT DEVELOPMENT: The Hudson-Mohawk Chapter of the Association for Talent Development will host a program - Friday, March 24,. GRAPHITE VISION: Skidmore’s Schick Art Gallery presents Graphite Vision, a 15-artist exhibition of extraordinary works made from ordinary graphite. Works on view range from eccentric, visionary drawings by outsider artists to subtle still-life vignettes. Artists Matt Bollinger and Anne Lindberg will participate in a talk at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 24, during the opening reception that runs from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Schick Gallery is located in Saisselin Art Center on the Skidmore College campus. All Schick events are free and open to the public.

LAKE PLACID CENTER FOR THE ARTS: The Lake Placid Center for the Arts (LPCA) invites the public to an opening Meet-the-Artist Reception on Friday, March 24, from 5p.m. to 7p.m. with Parmelee Tolkan, Stephen Horne, Eleanor Sweeney and Jon Prime for their group exhibit, Imagined Landscapes. QUILT BLOCK CHALLENGE: The Adirondack Folk School. 51 Main Street in Lake Luzerne, will be hosting the viewing of its third Quilt Block Challenge at the School on Friday evening, March 24, beginning at 6 p.m. This year 30squares have been submitted by quilters from the southern Adirondack area. The theme of the challenge is “Where to ‘Go’ in the Adirondacks”. The squares will remain on display at the School through Sunday, March 26, and then will be assembled into a sampler quilt.
