OPERA SARATOGA AUDITIONS: Opera Saratoga announces open auditions for male and female dancers for a new production of André Grétry’s operatic adaptation of Beauty and the Beast – “Zémire et Azor” – which will be directed by Obie Award winning director and puppeteer James Ortiz and choreographed by Jill Echo. Male dancers must be at least 6’ tall, and female dancers must be at least 5’9” to be eligible for consideration. Dancers should be professionally trained in ballet and modern dance. Experience with puppetry is valuable but not required. Auditions will take place at 6:30pm on Wednesday March 29, in Dance Studio 2 of The Skidmore Dance Center at Skidmore College, 815North Broadway, Saratoga Springs. Dancers are advised to bring a resume and headshot to the audition. Dancers must be available full time for rehearsals and performances for a seven-week period, starting on May 29, ending on July 14. BOARD OF EDUCATION BUDGET WORKSHOP: Saratoga Springs City School District residents will consider a school budget proposal for the 2017-18 school year on Tuesday, May 16.
