Streaks lacrosse squads top Eagles

DELMAR, N.Y. » Adam Meswuita scored six goals and teammate Dylan Honis added three goals and three assists as Saratoga Springs held off Bethlehem 1412 in a Suburban Council contest.

The Blue Streaks took a 13-8 lead into the fourth quarter then held off a late rally by the hosts.

Saratoga Springs goalkeeper Griffin Rehern made 14 saves while Tyler Hull and Matt Stento combined for nine saves for Bethlehem. goals and, Zac Schuette and Lucas Bennice contribute­d a goal and two assists.

Scotties goalkeeper Damian Randall made 14 saves in the contest while Darrian Poole had 10 saves for the Brothers and Max Tedesco added two saves.

Girls lacrosse

SARATOGA SPRINGS 15, BETHLEHEM 13 >> Katie Wendell had seven points on five goals and two assists while Cam Parry had two goals and three assists and Lindsey Frank scored a hat trick and added an assist to keep the Blue Streaks undefeated in Suburban Council play.

Sophia Calabrese scored four goals as Eagles teammates Sophie Powers and Kathryn Sancilio added hat tricks.

Goalkeeper Abbie Searles made 18 saves for Saratoga Springs (7-0 Suburban, 8-1 overall) to earn the win in the net and Katherine Chiarella had 12 saves for Bethlehem. BALLSTON SPA 16, GLENS FALLS 2 >> Megan Miller scored four goals and two assists while Mandy Cosgriff, Abbie Laime and Sam Devito each added two in a non-league rout.

Softball

SHAKER 7, BALLSTON SPA 2 >> Allie Lajeunesse earned the win in the circle while contributi­ng a single and two RBIs at the plate for the Blue Bison (5-1 Suburban Council). Teammate Meg Kutey went 3-for-4 with two solo homers and Emmie Gilmore had a two-run homer.

Angelina Stile had a double and two RBIs to lead the Scotties (7-2). GREENWICH 5, CAMBRIDGE 4>> Rachel Hall improved to 6-0 in the circle this season and the Witches moved to 8-0 in Wasaren League play and overall. Shania Danio and Hall doubled and Sabrina Whitehouse tripled to lead Greenwich at the plate.

Miranda Seacord took the loss for Cambridge while Mattie Clifton had two singles and two RBIs.

Boys tennis

SARATOGA SPRINGS 9, TROY 0 >> Blue Streaks singles players David Romano and Seungmin Kim did not drop a game and the Flying Horses forfeited the rest of the singles matches in a shutout.

ALBANY 6, BALLSTON SPA 3 >> Pete Gonzales earned a win at first singles for the Scotties but the Falcons swept all three doubles matches to earn the team win.

BALLSTON SPA 9, TROY 0 >> The Scotties won six matches and benefitted from three forfeits in the shutout.
