Saratoga’s Cairns named All-State

TROY, N.Y. » Saratoga Springs freshman Dolly Cairns was recognized for her outstandin­g girls basketball season by being named 10th team All-State by the New York State Sporswrite­rs Associatio­n.

Blue Streaks teammate Kerry Flaherty, a sophomore, was an honorable mention.

Columbia senior Selena Lott was the only player in Section II named a First Team All-State player. Lott will play at Marquette next season.

Lott averaged 20.4 points per game this season, scoring as many as 33 points in a game. She made 11 3-pointers, and said she tried to use the season to become a better distributo­r.

CeCe Mayo was named to the third-team. The Shaker guard will attend Army next season. Cameron Tooley was named to the eighthteam All-State. Tooley averaged 16.4 points per game for Shenendeho­wa — the Section II Class AA champion. Plainsmen teammate Alexandra Tudor was also named to the 11th-team All-State for Class AA.

She averaged 15.9 points per game this season.

Dolly Cairns was named to the 10th-team All-State, representi­ng Saratoga High School. She averaged 17.5 points per game on the season. Kerry Flaherty was also added to the All-State honorable mention list.

In Class A, Saeeda AbdulAziz was named to the firstteam All-State. The Mohonasen do-it-all player will attend Davidson next season. Nina Fedullo, from Amsterdam was named to the thirdteam All-State.

Stephanie Jankovic from Averill Park was named to the seventh team. She scored 13.3 points per game for the Section II champion. Kathryn Stackrow, also from Averill Park, made the ninth team. Nylasia Sutton, from Lansingbur­gh was named an honorable mention. So too was Shyla Sanford from Shaker.

Sophia Tougas from Glens Falls was named to the firstteam for Class B. She averaged 18.2 points per game on the season. Lucy Tougas was named to the fourth team. Nera Brajac from Cohoes made the ninth-team. Ali Changa from Watervliet was named to the 12th-team. Saige Roberts, also from Watervliet, made the 14th-team.
