Douglas C. Hurd

GREENFIELD CENTER - Douglas C. Hurd of Coy Road Greenfield Center New York passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Saratoga Hoswas pital on June 16th 2017. He 67 years old.

Born on May 24th 1950, in Saratoga Springs New York, he was the son of the late Carlton Hurd and Almeada Relyea Hurd.

Mr. Hurd was a 1967 graduate of Saratoga High School and continued his education at Hudson Valley Community College.

He married his wife Karen Waite Hurd of over 44 years on February 10th 1973.

Douglas worked as a chanical engineer and later a supervisor for the Ball Metal Container company in Saratoga Springs. Until his retirement in 2010.

He served as a firefighter for the Porter Corners Volservoutdoors unteer Fire Department for over 30 years also ing as a their past captain. Douglas loved the especially hunting fishing and camping. In his leisure he also enjoyed golfing and building things. But his greatest love and enjoyment came from spending time with his family and friends and wintering with his wife and Florida.

Survivors include his wife Karen, two sons; Matthew D Hurd and his wife Jen of Ballston Spa and David W Hurd and his wife Joanne of Greenfield Center New York, one daughter, Tammi L. Russell and her husband Jason of Greenfield Cena ter New York, a brother, Michael R. Hurd of Lake Luzerne, NY, two sisters, Paulette L. Colson of Porter Corners, NY and Janis M. Raylinsky and her husband Ron of Ballston Spa, NY, grandson Cody J Russell and several nieces nephews and cousins

Family and friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Tunison funeral home 105 Lake Avat enue Saratoga Springs New York. Funeral services will follow 6 p.m.
