CIRKUS SMIRKUS: On July 11 and 12 families can gather under the Big Top Tent as the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs proudly presents the Circus Smirkus 2017 30th Anniversar­y Big Top at the outdoor field at the Saratoga Casino Hotel. This year’s funfilled themed show, “Midnight at the Museum,” is a wild adventure through the halls of a magical museum that springs to life when the clock strikes midnight. Performanc­es at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for children ages 2-12. Children younger than two are free on an adult’s lap. All proceeds raised will go directly to the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs.

HISTORY STROLL: Saratoga Spa State Park docent programs will be offered daily through Labor Day Monday, September 4. Discover park history on a short walk to learn about historic uses for mineral waters, the 1930s spa complex for research and medical treatment, and other park history highlights. Program meets up at 1:30 p.m. at the arcade, outside the administra­tion building, 19 Roosevelt Drive, Saratoga Springs.

FREE YOUNG & FUN: The Lake Placid Center for the Arts’ (LPCA) Free Young & Fun Performanc­e Series is dedicated to bringing the best entertainm­ent for all ages to Lake Placid. On July 12 at 10:30 a.m., Magician Gary the Great presents his high energy blast of magic, comedy, and story telling. His hilarious performanc­e gets everyone involved, with demonstrat­ions of mentalism, close-up magic, and stage illusions. There is no charge for the performanc­e. GRANT COTTAGE: “Music in Grant’s Time” will take the audience on a song-filled trip through the 19th Century. KARNER BLUE BUTTERFLY WALKS: The endangered Karner blue butterfly has two broods every summer. Look for adults in the second brood that are searching for nectar and mates in the open pine/ oak savannah meadows.
