Betty Jane Fisher

SARATOGA SPRINGS Betty Jane (Comar) Fisher, age 80, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Saratoga Springs Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Known affectiona­tely to her friends and family as “BJ”, she was born on April 25, 1937 in Hudson Falls, NY, the ninth of 13 children, to the late Frederick Comar and Leanora Wheeler.

BJ was a registered nurse with a pediatric specialty who served many years at various hospitals and most notably, 26 years at Division Street Elementary School. During her tenure as school nurse, she was at the forefront of educat chiling and treating childhood obesity and diabetes. She routinely helped kids with AIDS and even saved the lives of at least two dren by performing the Heimlich maneuver. Her dedication to the well beeco mm uh er ing of students and ers was immeasurab­le.

In addition to nursing, BJ raised her family and was busy with a variety of ative hobbies and nity service throughout lifetime. She was an ac Sarative member of the United Methodist Church in toga Springs, in its Ruth Circle, reception tees, and rummage sales. Being a lifelong knitter, as part of the Ruth Circle, she knitted tens of prayer shawls, scarves, sweaters and hats for those in need.

Never idle, to her last breath, BJ was planning and organizing her final days and those thereafter. She is beloved for keeping everyone around her on track, on time, and front and center.

BJ is survived by her ing husband William of 57 years; siblings Patricia Pratt (John), Lee Comar (Sheila), and Peter Comar (Sandy); sons, Garth Fisher and Aaron Fisher (Barbra); daughters, Temple Genung (Daniel), Rebecca Fisher (Ibon), daughter-in-law Christine Fisher ;9 grand Me Indinumer-children: Seth, Christophe­r (Lisa), Prahlad, Micah, gan, Dillon (Myah), Tahlyn (Cassie), and Naia; and 2 great-grandchild­ren: go and McKinley; ous nieces and nephews and many friends who will miss her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her son Todd Fisher, siblings Marie Latham (Robert), Freder-CoConick Comar (Betty), Alice Mary Mingo (Joe), Jean Morrill (Arnold), Leslie mar (Dorothy), Ellengdon (Al), Donald Comar, Harvey Comar (Judy), and Dale Comar.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the dedicated nurses and staff of the intensive care unit at Saratoga Springs Hospital, and especially to Dr. DelGiacco and Dr. Phillips.

Theresa A. Neymeyer

CO LAKEWOOD, Theresa A. Neymeyer, 100 years old, passed away at her assisted living home in Lakewood, Colorado, on May 30, 2017.

Born in Ballston Spa, Theresa was the daugh Sara-Saratoga ter of Pasquale and fina Misserelli Tarantino of Springs.

The first of five children born in the United States, Theresa was a 1935 gradu-Saratoga ate of Saratoga Springs High School and married John R. Dominick, also of Springs, in 1941.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Tarantino DeVesto, brothers Joseph, James and Angelo Tarantino, husJr. band John and son, John R. Dominick,

In the early 1950’s resa left Saratoga Springs to follow her husband’s Air Force career. The couple and their children ultiJ ohn’s mately settled in Littleton, Colorado. After death in a private aircraft accident in 1966, Theresa married Clarence Neymeyer in 1981. The two were frequent visitors to Sarato passing ga Springs until Clarence’s in 2005.

Theresa was forever proud of her Italian herientage and growing up in Saratoga Springs. She joyed people and used her iPad to correspond with friends and family. Theesperes­a was an avid bridge player, belonging to many clubs and winning more often than not. She kept up these pursuits and cially enjoyed the 100 plus people who celebrated with her at her 100th birthday party on January 29, 2017.
