Espinoza, Castellano signing autograpgh­s at National Museum of Racing

By Brien Bouyea SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » Hall of Fame jockeys Victor Espinoza and Javier Castellano will be signing autographs at the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame this week. Espinoza is scheduled to sign at the Museum on Friday, Aug. 4 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. following the Hall of Fame inductions, while Castellano will sign on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Espinoza and Castellano will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Friday, Aug. 4 at the Fasig-Tipton pavilion as part of the class of 2017. The ceremony is open to the public and free to attend (limited seating). The ceremony will also be streamed live at www.racingmuse­um.org. Espinoza and Castellano will be signing limited-edition commemorat­ive posters commission­ed by the Museum from renowned artist Greg Montgomery. Each autograph will cost $15 and includes the poster.

Through July 31, Espinoza has won 3,325 races in his career with purse earnings of more than $194 million. He rode American Pharoah to the Triple Crown and Horse of the Year honors in 2015. Espinoza has also won both the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes with War Emblem and two-time Horse of the Year California Chrome.

Castellano, who has won the Eclipse Award for Outstandin­g Jockey each of the past four years, has won 4,727 races in his career with purse earnings of more than $284 million. He has won the Preakness Stakes twice, including this year with Cloud Computing. Castellano has also won the Travers Stakes a record five times and seven Breeders’ Cup races.
