Malta resident accused of thefts
STILLWATER, N.Y. » A Malta man already in jail for his role in a string of thefts in Saratoga and Rensselaer counties is facing new charges in the town of Stillwater.
Tyler Paradise, 27, was charged Wednesday with second-degree burglary, thirdand fourth-degree grand larceny and second-degree identity theft, all felonies.
According to the Stillwater Police Department, Paradise entered residence in the Saratoga Glen Community on an undisclosed date and stole a large amount of property consisting of electronic equipment, tools and jewelry. Police said Paradise also stole a credit card from the residence and used it at various businesses in the area for purchases.
Stillwater police were able to locate some of the stolen property in Albany.
Paradise, along with 28-year-old Nelson Bruno Jr. of Malta, were arrested July 27 and charged with fourthdegree grand larceny. Paradise was also charged with third-degree burglary, a felony, and possession of burglar tools, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanors.
State police said the two stole tools, lawn equipment and other items from residences, sheds, garages and trailers in the Malta, Stillwater and Hoosick Falls area. The stolen items were taken to Capital Region pawn shops and sold, troopers said.
Stillwater police said the new charges against Paradise are unrelated to those alleged burglaries.
Paradise was arraigned in Stillwater Town Court and returned to the Saratoga County Jail. The investigation was handled by Sgt. Paul Pecor of the Stillwater Police Department.
