Winners of the 2016 New York Innovative Theatre Awards for Outstandin­g Ensemble, Performanc­e Art, and Choreograp­hy/Movement, BKBX activates the imaginatio­n of their audiences and contempori­zes the art of mime, while reminding us of the power of simple storytelli­ng. GRANT COTTAGE: Explore the life of Frederick (Fred) Dent Grant, eldest son of Ulysses and Julia Grant, from childhood on a Missouri plantation to Civil War battlefiel­ds, West Point graduation and a career as U.S. diplomat and Major General. Like his father, Fred encountere­d hardships and scandals but displayed characteri­stic resolve to fulfill his duty through it all. When needed by his father in his final months, Fred faithfully and tirelessly served as the family’s spokesman and provided critical support to his mother and other family members following his father’s death.
