HISTORY STROLL: Saratoga Spa State Park docent programs will be offered daily through Labor Day Monday, September 4. Discover park history on a short walk to learn about historic uses for mineral waters, the 1930s spa complex for research and medical treatment, and other park history highlights. Program meets up at 1:30 p.m. at the arcade, outside the administra­tion building, 19 Roosevelt Drive, Saratoga Springs. SECRETARIA­T SPOTLIGHT TOUR: The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame will present a special spotlight tour centered around the racing career and legacy of Hall of Fame member and Triple Crown winner Secretaria­t on Monday, September 4, the final day of the Saratoga Race Course meeting. Coinciding with Saratoga’s Hopeful Stakes, which Secretaria­t won in stakes-record time 45 years ago, this guided tour will encompass the entire Museum, with a special focus on sculptures, artwork and memorabili­a related to Secretaria­t and his connection­s. The tour begins at 10 a.m. and costs $10 for Museum members, seniors and students. The cost is $15 for non-members. Each tour participan­t will receive an exclusive poster of Secretaria­t winning the 1972 Hopeful, courtesy of Secretaria­t. com. SENIOR SCIENCE DAY: The Dudley Observator­y at miSci is committed to lifelong learning and has created programmin­g specifical­ly designed for adults. Come explore the museum on a quiet afternoon, then join the Dudley Observator­y for an exciting astronomy lesson on “Our Solar System: The Terrestria­l Planets,” presented by Outreach Astronomer, Dr. Valerie Rapson.
