SENIOR ISSUES COMMUNITY FORUM: The Saratoga Springs Mayor’s Seniors Advisory Committee has set the date for a community forum, “Public Officials Speak to Senior Issues.” It will be held from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at Empire State College, 2 Union Ave, Saratoga Springs, on Monday, September 18. At the forum public officials will address the top concerns of most seniors such as: Healthcare, Housing and Transportation. Kathleen Fyfe from the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce will moderate the panel session. The forum is free and everyone concerned about senior issues is encouraged to attend. SARATOGA SPRINGS CITY CHARTER: The League of Women Voters of Saratoga County is sponsoring a public meeting on the proposed new City Charter which will be on the November ballot for the residents of Saratoga Springs. Three members of the Charter Review Commission will describe the process the commission used to study various forms of government for cities, and share how they reached the decision to recommend a new charter for the city of Saratoga Springs. They will point out differences between the old charter and the one being proposed. Pattie Garrett of LWV Saratoga will be the moderator.
