Florence M. (O’Boyle) Maglione
SARATOGA SPRINGS - Florence M. (O’Boyle) Maglione, 91, passed away Thursday afternoon (Sept. 21, 2017) at her residence.
Born on Nov. 12, 1925 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late James J. and Alice (Dwyer) O’Boyle, was a lifelong city resident and a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. Along with her late husband, she owned and operated, “Your NeighborJ. hood Grocery” (Jiggs’) for many years.
In addition to her parents and late husband, James Maglione (who died Oct. 17, 1965), she is predeceased by six siblings, Edward (Ned) O’Boyle, Janet McMMiller. anus, John (Jack) O’Boyle, Virginia (Ginny) Barron, Robert (Bob) O’Boyle and Frances (Frankie)
Survivors include six children, Alice M. MaglioJoFalls, ne of Pittsburgh, PA, seph (Bethany) Maglione of Glens James J. Maglione of Cedar Grove, NJ, Jude Maglione of Asheville, NC, Jo-Anne (Wescousley) Armstrong of Corinth and Michael J. (Donna) Maglione of Wallkill, NY; 13 grandchildren, 4 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and ins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday (Sep. 27) in St. Clement’s Roman Catholic Church, 231 Lake Avenue and burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter’s Cemetery, West Ave.

Wallace “Wally” Whalen
BALLSTON SPA - Wally, 92, died on Saturday, September 23, 2017.
He was born on ber 19, 1924. He was the son of the late John and Gertrude Drew Whalen.
He served in the Army during World War II. He received a Purple Heart and was awarded the N. Y. State Conspicuous Service Cross.
Wally joined V.F. W. Post 358 in 1945 and has been a member for 72 continuous years.
He was recently honored by V.F. W. Post 358 with a 70 year pin and a plaque for his distinguished serthe vice to the organization. Wally was a member of Disabled American Vetermany ans.
Wally was a self-employed carpenter for years.
He enjoyed bending the rules of the game, espeUno. cially playing ping pong, checkers and
Wally enjoyed riding his trike around town, fishing, and making cement lawn ornaments and urns.
He was predeceased by his wife Betty Whalen who died August 30, 2008, his son Charles Whalen, his grandson Alexander VenHitchcock. trella, his brothers, James, John, Miles Whalen and his sister Rose
Survivors include his children William (Cynthia) Whalen, Patricia (Dan) Bryant and Ronald (Cheryl) Whalen, Michele (Tom) Thomas and Jeanne Whalen, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services will be on day, September 28, 2017 at 10:30 am at Mevec Funeral Home, 224 Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa.
Committal service with full military honors will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery.
