NISKAYUNA, N.Y. » Erin McCarthy scored off a pass form Grace Ziehnert to lead Saratoga Springs’ varsity field hockey team to a 1-0 win over Niskayuna Wednesday. The Blue Streaks led in penalty corners 14-5 and shots 16-6.

Renee Banagan made five saves in the cage to earn the shutout for Saratoga Springs (9-1) while Julia LeBlanc had 12 saves for Niskayuna (4-6). Juniors Olivia Howard (1 goal, 2 assists) and Lea Morlock (first varsity goal) also scored for the Plainsmen.

Grace Beaulac had 14 assists and 11 digs to lead Schuylervi­lle (1-5, 4-6) while teammates Cheyenne Crandall had five kills and 19 digs, Eva Drohobycky had 11 digs and Vallerie Bowden and Colete Stone had four kills apiece in the win.

Shen’s Hannah Feit had four aces, 17 assists and two kills, Ella Hammes eight aces and 10 digs, Ashley Lavigne had nine kills and three digs, Mary Talty had six kills and Annie Sala had six kills. SARATOGA CATHOLIC 3, EMMA WILLARD 0 » The Saratoga Catholic girls volleyball team swept Emma Willard 25-22, 25-14, 25-14 in a Wasaren League contest. Elise Browell provided 18 assists for the Saints while teammates Ani Crocker had four aces, two kills and 11 digs, Grace Fornabia had 12 kills, 18 digs and two blocks, Kennedy Murphy had 11 digs and four kills and Grace O’Reilly had six kills, five digs and two aces.

Kat Coyle led the Jesters with five kills, two blocks and three digs and Angelina Ferritto had 10 assists and seven digs.
