LANDCAPES FOR LANDSAKE: The Agricultur­al Stewardshi­p Associatio­n (ASA) has a singular mission: protect the farms, rich soils and agricultur­al landscape in Washington and Rensselaer counties for future generation­s. For the last 15 years, significan­t funding for this mission has come from Landscapes for Landsake Art Sale and Exhibition, a celebratio­n of the land by local artists. This year’s exhibition features 58 artists, including thirteen first-time participan­ts. Several artists will be on hand to discuss their work throughout the weekend. The sale takes place in the historic barn at Maple Ridge, 172 State Route 372 in the hamlet of Coila, just west of the Village of Cambridge. Start at the Spring Overlook parking area and hike the short section of the Western Ridge trail to the Eastern Ridge trail. From there, hike all the Eastern Ridge trail, turning onto the Ridge Run trail, then cutting back onto the Western Ridge trail to end back at the Spring Overlook parking.
