JOE SINNOTT: Renowned Marvel Comics Spider-Man illustrato­r Joe Sinnott will discuss his work at 4 p.m. on Friday, October 20, at the Dutch Ale House in Saugerties. Sinnott, 90, is one of America’s most famous comic illustrato­rs and still does the Sunday Spider-Man comic strip. He will be joined by Janice Chiang, who handwrites all the comic strip’s lettering. ALL-COUNTY BAND FESTIVAL: The Galway Central School District hosts the conclusion of the Saratoga-Warren County Music Educators Associatio­n (SWCMEA) All-County Band Festival on Saturday, October 21. Approximat­ely 230 student musicians from 17 school districts were selected to participat­e in the festival based on their evaluation scores from their New York State School Music Associatio­n (NYSSMA) solo performanc­es last spring. The students will rehearse with guest conductors on Saturday morning beginning at 9 a.m. for a 2 p.m. performanc­e that is open to the public. LYME AWAY 5K: The 2nd Annual Lyme Away 5K Run/ Walk will be held on Sunday, October 22, on the crosscount­ry course in Cole’s Woods in Glens Falls. AFTER THE FIRE: After The Fire is a non-profit organizati­on that helps residents of Saratoga County who have suffered a loss due to fire. They are comprised entirely of much-needed volunteers and exist entirely on donations.
