SOCIETY: Haydn’s masterwork, “The Creation,” a fundamental appeal for universal love and fellowship, features soprano Emily Tweedy, tenor Spencer Viator, and baritone John Tibbetts (alumni of Opera Saratoga’s Young Artist Program) and the Oratorio Orchestra. 4 p.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Road, Glenville. CAPITAL REGION JEWISH GENEALOGY SOCIETY: The Capital Region Jewish Genealogical Society (CRJGS) welcomes guest speaker Nolan Altman, JewishGen’s Vice President for Data Acquisition, on Sunday, October 22. Nolan will discuss the insights cemetery records can provide on the evolution of family naming conventions, connecting generations of ancestors, and the significance of symbols inscribed on Jewish tombstones. Nolan promises to add humor to this topic, so as not to make it too grave. The free presentation will begin at 10 a.m. at the Jewish Federation of Northeastern NY, Washington Avenue Extension, Albany.
