SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » Nonprofit organization SaratogaArtsFest is holding its annual fundraising gala this week and it’s an All Hallows’ Eve Dark Faerie Tale Masquerade Ball.

The event will take place from 7 to 11 p.m. Thursday at the Canfield Casino in Congress Park in downtown Saratoga Springs.

Funds raised at the ball will allow SaratogaArtsFest to continue to bring free, family-friendly Arts Fest Fridays events to the community in 2018.

SaratogaArtsFest works collaboratively with the region’s arts organizations, businesses, and community groups to create immersive arts experiences in venues and outdoor spaces throughout Saratoga Springs.

“It’s really wonderful to see entire families participate in our arts events,” said Nicole Coady, SaratogaArtsFest artistic director, in a press release. “A mom recently told us how much her fouryear-old enjoyed our Beauty and the Beasts event this summer. Not only did she love our petting zoo and pony rides, our ‘beasts’, she truly enjoyed Opera Saratoga’s performances too.”

Coady continued, “We wanted our gala to be an immersive experience as well. So not only will our guests enjoy a fabulous night out, they will also be part of an All Hallows’ Eve theatrical production where they will interact with some of their favorite fairy tale characters as they play out some of the darker themes found in famous fairy tales.”

Elegant attire or fairy tale costumes are encouraged at the All Hallows’ Eve Dark Faerie Tale Masquerade Ball. Canfield Casino is expected to be transformed into an enchanting hall filled with candelabra-bedecked tables, still-life vignettes, devilishly delectable passed hors d’oeuvres, a formal sit-down dinner catered by Lily & The Rose, an open bar with smoking signature cocktails, pop-up performances, and spell-inducing music, the release said.

The event will features a Destination Auction and a special raffle for a ghost tour of the Canfield Casino’s infamously haunted third floor on the night of the ball.

The All Hallows’ Eve Dark Faerie Tale Masquerade Ball is open to the public. Tickets are $150 and can be purchased online at SaratogaArtsFest.org/ annual-benefit.
