The Saratogian (Saratoga, NY)

Vero has real and quality experience for post

-

Saratoga Springs has an easy choice to make this Election Day in the race for City Court Judge. While proponents of her challenger have oddly made experience an issue, the reality is that Judge Francine Vero is the only person on the ballot who has extensive civil litigation experience, and who has filled the role as judge with distinction.

The Saratoga Springs City Court handles a wide variety of matters, not just criminal cases. Civil cases, landlord tenant eviction proceedings, small claims, commercial small claims, vehicle and traffic and parking enforcements matters are all heard in City Court. There is also a specialty court to address domestic violence and related issues.

Judge Vero brought to her position a history of 13 years of experience working for victims of domestic violence, as well as 10 years of experience with a variety of litigation issues, all of which has allowed her to step into her role with confidence and the knowledge required for the position. Her opponent is a career public defender who does not identify any civil law experience in his public statements.

It is also worth noting that Judge Vero is the first woman to serve as a judge in the City Court. Rather than expecting that to entitle her to the position, she has by all accounts worked tirelessly in the job and has far and away been the most active candidate in the community.

I encourage you to vote on Nov. 7 for the candidate with real, quality experience – Judge Francine Vero.
