BACON HILL - Charles L. Merchant, 84, a resident of Rugg Rd., passed away peacefully at his home Frisurday, November 3, 2017 rounded by his family.

Born September 21, 1933 in Ballston Spa, NY he was the son of the late C. Lester and Helen Emerson Merchant.

Charles met his late wife Sheila Deyoe Merchant at her father’s dairy farm where he stopped for coffee. Together they raised their 7 children and ran the Merchant Lea Dairy Farm.

Charlie retired from ing and then worked at Petteys Sawmill, where he continued to join them for coffee-break each morning at 9:30. He was a founding member of the Chippewa Hunting Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and day morning car rides listraal-Merchant. tening to country music. He carried on Sheila’s dition of making and ways having cookies in the house.
