GLENS FALLS - Joseph John Bruso, known to all as John Bruso, 85, of Glens Falls, NY passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on January 7, 1932 in Saratoga Springs, NY, the son of the late Joseph and Frances (Squires) seph and Frances Bruso. He served his country in the US Navy from 1951 to 1955, during which he earned various mendations including the Purple Heart Medal for his injuries received in bat while serving on board the USS Irwin in Wonsan Harbor, on the East Coast of Korea. John also served in the Navy Reserves 1955 to 1959. He was a member of the American Legion of Saratoga.

John was an all-around athlete. He enjoyed foot-ball, skating down hill skiing and golfing. John was a strong willed hard working man. He adored his family and joyed family get- ers in the back yard. was well known by his neighbors for working in the yard and his garden. He loved to tinker in his workshop in the basement, fixing things around the house and taking care of all his family. John was a true Saratogian, who enjoyed sharing many stories of his life in Saratoga. He joyed his time in the Navy serving his country. will certainly be missed by all, especially his beloved grandchild­ren.

In addition to his parents, John was predecease­d by his sister Patricia Hall and his brother Robert Bruso.

He is survived by his loved wife of 40 years Louise Bruso, of Glens Falls; son Peter (Susan) Nash of South Glens Falls; ter Beth (Jim) Hughes of Hartford; daughter Peggy Nash and her longtime companion Mark Tierney ney of South Glens Falls; daughter Stacy Johnson and her significan­t other Tim Lawrence of South Glens Falls and daughter Sharon (Dan) Kumlander of Saratoga. He also leaves behind his Stacy (Joe) Bartholome­w, Joseph (Jen) Brewer, Amber (Andre) Stillman, Jake (Ashley) Brewer, gan (Eric) Eddy, Micheal Johnson, John Johnson, Carrissa Kumlander and Joseph Kumlander; great grandchild­ren Kaili, Lexis, Braedon, Kenney, Julianna, Joseph, Luke, Chase, James and Tavin; several nieces and nephews and by ters Frances Mitchell of Florida and Shirley Flinton of Saratoga.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 7 PM on day, November 8, 2017 at Regan Denny Funeral Home, 94 Saratoga Ave., South Glens

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, South Glens Falls, NY.
