Five Questions

-

Five Questions with Ben Kronberg. This comedian can be seen headlining the Make Me Laugh Albany events on Nov. 10 and 11 at the Lark Tavern alongside last year’s winner and the six contest finalists vying to win the competition, which will be judged by Jay Jachnowitz, Dan Frigolette, Benita Zahn, and Vinny Fazio.

1 You’ve appeared on Comedy Central, “Last Comic Standing,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” What other goals have you set for yourself coming up?

I don’t set goals really. I have my sights on things going on that I think would be fun to do and move in whatever direction provides the least resistance. Anytime I have tried too specifically for anything it results in frustration and disappointment more times than not. Going with the flow of opportunities and having faith there are always new opportunities popping up serves me the best.

2 What’s your favorite thing about doing comedy on the road?

I love meeting new people and telling my jokes in front of new audiences. It’s always different depending on the region but always fun. I love living on the east coast because there are so many places to perform.

3 Do you have a life mantra?

Don’t get married. Don’t get married. Don’t get married.

4 How do you settle into living in New York after living in Denver, Colorado?

I lived in Colorado for 30 years before moving so I was really craving a change of pace. New York is definitely that. I love the vibe and pace and all the different walks of life in NY. Colorado is pretty homogenized and a much slower pace which is nice but as a comedian you need to have that hustle muscle working and New York is the perfect place for that.

5 What makes you laugh?

I suppose “America’s Funniest Home Videos” makes me laugh the most. People hurting themselves is always funny when you don’t have to experience the aftermath.
