SARATOGA SPRINGS Margaret Von Stetina, age 68, died November 9, 2017 at Saratoga Hospital. From her birth in Scotia, NY, on January 9, 1949, until her death on Thursday she was a woman who cared and gave everything of herself to others.

Margaret was the only child of the late Elinore & Vincent Karl. She was raised in Scotia and graduated from Scotia Glenville High School in 1967. She then went on to attend Albany Junior College, married Gerald Von Stetina on October 17, 1970, and worked several years at MTI until starting her own family. They settled in and raised their family in Saratoga Springs, NY.

Margaret was an avid reader and skilled at sewing. She was quick to give a helping hand, lend a listening ear, or be a voice of guidance in confusing times. She enjoyed traveling to ocean destinatio­ns, laughing with her family, and watching her grandchild­ren grow.

Margaret is survived by her husband Gerald Von Stetina, daughter Lisa England, son-in law Ryan England, and two grandchild­ren Gabriella and Evan England.

She is predecease­d by her son Robert Joseph Von Stetina.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the The Community Hospice of Saratoga County (179 Lawrence Street, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866), the American Lung Associatio­n, (418 Broadway, 1st Floor, Albany, NY 12207), or the American Heart Associatio­n (4 Atrium Dr. Suite 100, Albany, NY 12205).

Relatives and friends may call from 4-7pm Monday, November 13, 2017 at William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff, Inc. Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY (518-584-5373).

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at St. Mary’s Church (167 Milton Ave., Ballston Spa, NY).

Burial will be announced at a later date.
