Suburban field hockey all-stars out

Saratoga Springs, Shenendeho­wa both place five on first team

Field hockey players from Saratoga Springs and Shenendeho­wa, the top Class A teams in Section II, dominated the list of 2017 Suburban Council all-stars.

Five players from the undefeated regular season champion Plainsmen made First Team while the Section II champion Blue Streaks also had five First Team selections.

Men’s basketball

UALBANY PREPS FOR 3 GAMES IN 5 DAYS » The UAlbany men’s basketball team has three games in a span of five days, beginning with a Saturday afternoon contest at Holy Cross on November 25th at 1:05 p.m.

The game will air online on the Patriot League Network. In addition, 104.5 the Team will have the radio call from the Hart Center at the Luth Athletic Complex in Worcester.

UAlbany has quick turnaround­s coming up, playing at Monmouth on November 27 and home vs. Colgate on November 29.

America East-representa­tive UAlbany is off to its first 5-0 start in over 30 years, coming off a 91-73 victory at Dartmouth on Wednesday night. From the Patriot League, Holy Cross has fallen in its last two, the final an 87-76 defeat at Fairleigh Dickinson, to stand at 2-2 overall.

The two met in SEFCU on November 30th last season, with Holy Cross winning 55-49. These programs have met each of the past four seasons, with Holy Cross leading the alltime series 3-1.

UAlbany has a victory over Patriot League opponent Boston University back on November 13th. Holy Cross have a future game vs. America East opponent New Hampshire.

Girls bowling

COBLESKILL 18, MECHANICVI­LLE 14 » Ayana Saw rolled a high single of 219 and 491 series to help Cobleskill-Richmondvi­lle top Mechanicvi­lle 2,104-2,003 in total pins. Ema Herring rolled a 408 series for the Red Raiders in defeat.

Boys basketball

GERMANTOWN 64, RENSSELAER 56 » Zach Mackey scored 18 points but it wasn’t enough for the Rams in a loss. Mackey was named one of the Tip Tournament all-stars along with MVP Matt Ragosta and Christian Pesano of Ichabod Crane, Wyatt Gibbons and Daniel Kellenbenz of Germantown and Slade Pulliam of BerneKnox-Westerlo.

Bowling

MONDAY ROLLERS » Ken Schermerho­rn rolled a single of 231 and finished with the high series of 554 in the Monday Rollers League at Spare Time Clifton Park. Art LeBlanc was second with a 549 series.

Sylma LeBlanc led all women bowlers with a 441 triple while Kathy Salmeri finished with a 416.

In the second match Joe Mazurak had a high series of 530 while Schermerho­rsn finished with a 518.

Sylma LeBlanc tallied the high women’s series of 435 in the second match and Anita Ross rolled a 425.
