Auto Museum names director
Connors the new executive director
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. » Carly T. Connors, of Saratoga Springs, is Saratoga Automobile Museum’s new executive director.
She succeeds Jim Letts, who held the position since April 2016.
Connors, who started in November, is responsible for managing the museum’s day-today operations.
Most recently, she was executive director of the Albany Fund for Education, a non-profit charitable organization that supports innovative programs for the City School District of Albany.
Connors, a graduate of Hartwick College and Sage Graduate School, had been a museum board member prior to her appointment as executive director.
The museum, founded in 1999, has several initiatives lined up for 2018 including partnerships with the New York International Auto Show and the International Bugatti Tour.
Plans are also in the works for a second Saratoga Auto Auction, in September. More than 200 antique and classic cars, boats and motorcycles were sold at this year’s event, a major museum fundraiser.
Connors is an avid automobile enthusiast. In addition to being on the museum board, she has worked in several capacities, including bookkeeper and treasurer, for the Northeast Chapter of the Audi Club of North America. She was also co-event master of the Watkins Glen High Perfor-
mance Driving School.
In 2016, Connors was named 2016 Audi Club of North America Chapter Member of the Year.
“The Saratoga Automobile Museum is more than a celebration and appreciation of the automobile. We are a resource for the greater Capital Region community to learn ways to exercising greater precautions when on the road,” she said. “I look forward to building upon our current successes and for the museum to reach its full potential ahead of our 20th anniversary.”
