Emma Willard wins GF alpine invite, Hannah Klingbiel top skier

Emma Willard won Wednesday’s Glens Falls Invitation­al slalom event at Willard Mountain with Sophia Arnold racing the course in 43.99 seconds for fifth-place, Calynn Cerniglia seventh at 45.03 and Anya Firisen 12th at 46.78. Saratoga Springs was second on the skis of eighth-place Shannon Kelly, 10th-place finisher Alex Hoffman at 46.76 and Lucy Daly 13th at 46.92. Shenendeho­wa was third overall with Nicole Buhac finishing third, Miceala Leonard ninth at 46.59 and Nicole Nash 20th at 49.64. Ballston Spa was fifth overall on the skis of Sara Phelps 14th at 46.99, Claire Felton 15th at 47.15 and Greta Gottman 16th at 47.45. Schuylervi­lle’s Hannah Klingbiel captured the slalom race with her run of 39.61 seconds.

BOYS RESULTS

The Shenendeho­wa boys alpine team finished third Wednesday led by Patrick Leonard in third with his run in 41.48 seconds. Chase Paton was eighth at 42.41 seconds and Aiden Schaefer was 21st at 47.80. Saratoga Springs finished fourth led by Atticus Connell’s ninthplace finish in 43 seconds, Tyler Munter’s 10th place run in 43.20 and Lucas Dougherty 16th at 45.46. Ballston Spa’s Anthony Lyon was 13th at 45.03 seconds with Ethan Huff 15th at 45.39 and Eric Gottmann 33rd at 53.56.

MECHANICVI­LLE 72, WATERFORD-HALFMOON 30 »

Mechanicvi­lle locked down Waterford-Halfmoon in the second quarter, limiting the Fordians to just two points. The Red Raiders then capped Waterford to 14 points in the second half in the win. Red Raider Charli Goverski scored a gamehigh 22 points, including three 3-point shots. Sam Pasinella added 16 and Taylor Grayson chipped in 12 points on the night. Waterford was led by Emily Kelley’s 11 points.

Mayfield’s Sydney Shaldon almost single-handedly defeated Galway Wednesday night pouring in 36-points in the road win. Galway was led by Carlee Horstmann’s 14-point night.

The Mohonasen girls bowling squad took the match and total pin fall with 3,637 pins Tuesday afternoon to Columbia High’s 3,153 pins in Suburban Council action. The Blue Devils were led by McKenzie Empie’s 199-538 series followed by Morgan Hahn’s 206-533 and Erin Spencer’s 192-596. Elizabeth Ross rolled a 268-737 to lead Mohonasen with Elizabeth Delorenzo following-up with a 264695 series.

GUILDERLAN­D 27, BURNT HILLS 5 »

Guilderlan­d claimed the match and total pin fall with 3,832 pins compared to Burnt HillsBalls­ton Lake’s 3,151 pins. Top scored for Guilderlan­d belonged to Apollo with a 257-692, Mastrangel­o 234658, and DiBella 265-649. Burnt Hills was led by Jason Bellamy’s 213-593 and Alecks Lorenc’s 225-647. Mercier rolled a 192-517.

SHENENDEHO­WA 3,676, MOHONASEN 3,483 »

The Plainsmen took Wednesday’s battle of Suburban Council power houses, knocking down 3,676 pins compared to Mohonasen’s 3,483. Shenendeho­wa was paced by Brennon Belding’s 242-682 series followed by A.J. Yando’s 277-665 and Mike Westfall’s 246-645. Mohonasen’s Daev Memoli rolled a 268-638 series.

SARATOGA 51, MOHONASEN 25 »

Antonio Encarnacio­n (99), Griffin Biviano (106), Jordan Sartin (113), Patrick Spatafora (126) and Ryan DiGuiseppe (160) each had pins for the Blue Streaks Wednesday night. Frank Spatafora earned a 6-3 decision at 152 pounds in the Suburban Council win.

Justin Sisler (106), John Deconno (113), Ryan Buthfer (120), Mason Tripp (132), Danny Jada (138), Victor Little (182) and Vincent Daviero (195) all earned wins by pin fall Wednesday night on senior night against Bethlehem at Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake High School.

The TigersRegg­ie Poulin earned the lone pin on the night for Cohoes a 220-pounds Wednesday night. Zakra Ahmadzai earned a major decision at 99-pounds as Jacob Almeida (120) and Dwayne Campton (132) earned decisions.
