Benefit slated for Saturday

Fundraiser to help cancer patient, family

QUEENSBURY, N.Y. » A fundraisin­g benefit is scheduled Saturday at O’Toole’s Restaurant & Pub for long-time employee Austin Lane, 29, who was diagnosed recently with brain cancer.

He and his wife are expecting their first child in February, a news release said.

Lane has worked at O’Toole’s since high school as a host, server and bartender, but will be out of work for the foreseeabl­e future.

He and his family need monetary assistance to cover the cost of missed employment, medical bills, Christmas and a newborn baby.

The #AustinStro­ng fundraiser is scheduled for noon to closing time.

All money raised from the following food and beverage specials will be donated to Lane. They are:

• $15: Dozen wings and soda (Noon to close);

• $15: Unlimited toppings burgers (Noon to close);

• $25: Prime rib dinners, starting at 3 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advanced. It’s suggested to avoid the busiest time (5 to 8

p.m.) if possible, the release said;

• $5 for selected premium pints; Other activities are: • Silent auction: (Noon-9 p.m.) Do not need to be present to win;

• 50/50: (Noon-9 p.m.) Do not need to be present to win;

• $15 T-shirts, $5 koozies, $5 #austinstro­ng cups;

• 100 raffle ticket for a chance to win a 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatchback;

• $25 raffle ticket for a chance to win a 2017 KTM Factory 250F dirtbike.

Donated items are sought for the silent auction, in addition to monetary donations. Checks made payable to the Austin Lane Fund may be sent to O’Toole’s Restaurant, 118 Quaker Rd., Queensbury, 12804.
