Corinth plans a year of events
Bicentennial to be celebrated
CORINTH, N.Y. » The town of Corinth is celebrating its bicentennial in 2018 with events throughout the year, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday with a Blue & Gold annual scouts banquet at Corinth firehouse.
Local artist Kendra Schieber and Corinth fourth-grade students created the bicentennial logo, which depicts a picturesque scene with the motto: “Corinth 1818-2018, Celebrating 200 years on the Hudson River.”
Also, the Bicentennial Committee commissioned well-known artist Cate Mandigo to produce a colorful souvenir poster. Instead, she did two, a news release said.
One depicts a summer scene called “Sunday Afternoon, Pagenstecher Park.”
The other shows the old International Paper Company office in winter.
The matted and signed prints are available in three sizes — 8 x 10 for $30, 11 x 14 for $45 and 16 x 20 for $60.
In addition, raffle tickets for a chance to win one of the original prints are available at the Corinth Town Hall for $20 apiece.
All fundraising proceeds will go to the bicentennial celebration.
