The Meadows at Glenwyck Vision Education Group sponsors a program on Monday, February 12, at 1 p.m. entitled “Aging Successfully with Aging Vision.” Cheryl Lawyer, outreach & education coordinator, at the Northeastern Association of the Blind at Albany (NABA), will give a one-hour educational presentation focusing on the leading causes of aging vision, early warning signs and resources for those whose vision is not as good as it used to be. Lawyer will also discuss specific eye health issues like macular degeneration, as well as show, “Living with Low Vision,” a 10-minute video that presents real life success stories of people experiencing aging vision and coping strategies. Turkey Path Hike, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This moderate hike is about 2+ miles scaling half-way up the Palmertown mountain range. There is a steady incline for about half a mile on the turkey trail. GREENWICH FREE LIBRARY: It’s been five years since the Willard Mountain Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution commissioned photographer Clifford Oliver to copy a photograph of the John Henry family of Whitehall. The Whitehall Historical Association gave Oliver access to a rare Victorian photo album that housed some one hundred and twentysix photographs of mostly African American citizens.
