Cops: Man robbed apartment

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y.» Police arrested a Greenwich man for allegedly robbing an unoccupied apartment on Springs Street Saturday night.

Kevin Collery, 32, was charged with criminal mischief in the third degree and burglary in the second degree, both felonies, as well as a misdemeano­r count of resisting arrest.

Around 8:10 p.m., an officer on patrol was approached by a running couple who pointed at Collery who was walking along Spring Street headed eastbound. The couple told police Collery had caused damage to an apartment building nearby a few moments ago.

Officers were able to detain Collery, and it was subsequent­ly discovered that Collery had committed a burglary to an unoccupied apartment on Springs Street just prior to the initial police contact.

While committing the burglary, Collery caused damage to the glass door of the apartment and several items within the residence.

Collery was later arraigned and committed to Saratoga County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or a $2,500 bond.
