Clifton Park’s Harbinger, Tebbano, earn lax honors

The Clifton Park native took on his first collegiate start in the Saints season opener at Hobart and tallied 17 saves. He allowed just 11 goals as the Saints picked up a 12-11 victory at the hands of the Statesmen. He saved 60.7-percent of all shots that came his way. Tebbano also picked up five ground balls for Siena.

The Saints will host UMass Lowell for their home opener on Saturday, Feb.24 at 1 p.m. 15-3 in the Carrier Dome in its season opener. It was the first time an opponent had held Syracuse to three goals since 1991.

Other notables from the polls: Future opponent Maryland is at No. 3 in both polls while Yale is at No. 11. America East foe Vermont is in the top-20 in both, standing No. 20 in the coaches poll and #17 in the media poll.

Tehoka Nanticoke was honored as the America East Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week while JD Colarusso was chosen as the America East Defensive Player of the Week.

Nanticoke earns his firstever conference weekly awards while Colarusso picks up his second career conference weekly honor.

The two helped UAlbany earn its strongest season opening victory with a 15-3 win at #8/7 Syracuse on Saturday. UAlbany jumped to #2 in each the USILA Coaches Poll and the Inside Lacrosse Maverik Media Poll this week.

Nanticoke made his UAlbany debut on Saturday afternoon with five goals against the Orange, leading all scorers that game. He also had a caused turnover and a ground ball.

Redshirt senior Colarusso stood in goal for UAlbany against Syracuse, allowing just three goals, the best against the Orange since 1991. He saved 10 shots for a 76.9% save rate.

UAlbany will get set for its home opener on Saturday, Feb. 24th at 12 p.m. against Drexel in Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. East Tournament, starting with a contest vs. Maine on Saturday, Feb. at 7 p.m.
