More snow hitting region today

ALBANY, N.Y. » A winter weather advisory is in effect from until 8 p.m. tonight, according to the National Weather Service, as snow was expected to blanket the region.

The advisory includes the Capital Region and the Lake George Saratoga Region, with accumulati­ons of 3 to 7 inches forecast. Drivers should expect slippery road conditions and occasional reduced visibility, including during this morning’s commute. ••• Here’s the forecast for the Capital Region through Wednesday.

Today: Snow. High near 34. North wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitat­ion is 80 percent. New snow accumulati­on of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tonight: Snow likely, mainly before 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 27. West wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitat­ion is 70 percent. New snow accumulati­on of less than one inch possible.

Wednesday: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28. Chance of precipitat­ion is 30 percent.
