UAlbany Athletics unveils new wordmark

ALBANY, N.Y. » University at Albany Athletics gear is getting a new look, with a redesigned wordmark that will begin appearing on Great Danes uniforms in the fall of 2018.

The new wordmark also is available on apparel that can be purchased through the newly launching UAlbany Team Stores, which will give fans the opportunity to purchase Great Danes gear through UAlbanySports.com.

The new wordmark resulted from a collaborative design effort between the UAlbany Athletic Department and the UAlbany Office of Marketing and Communications. It will be phased in to the uniforms of all UAlbany’s 18 Division I sports in the coming seasons.

“The new wordmark gives our brand an updated look that we believe will withstand the test of time. This will give us a more consistent brand identity with one font being used across all of our teams’ uniforms,” UAlbany Athletic Director, Mark Benson,

said. “We’re also pleased to be able to offer fans the opportunity to show their Great Danes pride by wearing the new wordmark on their gear.”

More UAlbany Team Stores will be added in the coming months. Please allow two to three weeks from the purchase date to receive items. There is a flat shipping rate of $6.50 per order.

The No. 1-ranked men’s lacrosse team is home Tuesday to face Canisius at Casey Stadium. Faceoff is at 3 p.m.

Women’s lacrosse plays its America East opener at noon Saturday against Hartford at Casey Stadium.
