Tree, shrub order forms available

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. » Order forms and informatio­n are available for Saratoga County Soil and Water Conservati­on District’s annual Tree and Shrub program.

Small fruit species are always popular and this year and strawberri­es, highbush blueberrie­s and red raspberrie­s will be available.

Evergreens that can be ordered include Colorado Blue, Norway and White Spruce, Arborvitae (White Cedar), Canadian Hemlock, Balsam and Fraser Fir, and Austrian Pine.

Deciduous tree and shrub species are also on the order form. The tree species are Red Maple, Sugar Maple, White Birch, Sergeant Crab Apple and White Oak.

Several shrubs are available including Lilac, Forsythia, Highbush Cranberry and Rose of Sharon.

Compost, mulch, fertilizer tablets and wildflower seed mixes also can be ordered.

Order forms may be obtained and people may place an order by calling (518) 885-6900; stopping by the district office at 50 West High St., Ballston Spa (8 a.m.–4 p.m.), by email: treeandshr­ub@ gmail.com or mail.

All pre-orders are due by April 2. Distributi­on days are Friday, April 27 (8 a.m.–5 p.m.) and Saturday, April 28 (8 a.m.–12 p.m.) at the 4H Training Center, 556 Middle Line Road, Ballston Spa.

Persons do not have to be a Saratoga County resident to place an order.
