Cumberland Farms celebrates reopening with youth recreation program fundraiser
MILTON, N.Y. » A popular area Cumberland Farms convenience store and gas station celebrated its grand reopening with a ribbon cutting ceremony and ongoing fundraiser for charity.
Cumberland Farms, located at 451 Geyser Road in Milton, held a ribbon-cutting event last week at the newly renovated store as a kickoff to a four-week fundraiser for the Milton Youth Recreation Program. One dime from all dispensed beverages purchased at the new next generation store location will go directly to the organization.
This springtime celebration came a few months after the stores reopening in late December. Before that, it was closed for about two months of renovations, coinciding with the relocation of Dunkin’ Donuts, which used to be inside the Cumberland Farms store.
Now, the Cumberland Farms sells its own coffee beverages, at 99 cents for any size.
Other changes at the store include ordering terminals and a toppings bar for hot dogs and sandwiches.
In addition to new architectural features and a modernized layout, the 4,000 square-foot location features high-top indoor community counters and outdoor seating, 14 parking spaces, and eight fueling pumps.
Customers can now enjoy several new food and beverage options, like smoothies, frozen espresso, and milkshakes, as well as specialty coffee drinks.
The expanded food menu features a variety of specialty items, including ciabatta sandwiches, frittatas, melts and macaroni and cheese, all of which are featured on digital menu boards and can be ordered on self-service terminals.
“It’s a continuation of our new-concept design which is spacious and takes advantage of plenty natural light,” said David Heilbronner, director of brand strategy and advertising at Cumberland Farms. “We are adding these features to any store that has the space required for these additions.”
Ari Haseotes, CEO of Cumberland Farms, said in a press release, “Since 2009, Cumberland Farms has opened or updated over 330 stores, and donated over $450,000 to community organizations across the Northeast and Florida.
“As we have passed the halfway point in our efforts, we could not be happier with the response we’ve received from the community. We’re looking forward to bringing our new stores and menu items to all of the communities in which we serve, and to raising even more money for our local partners along the way.” More information about Cumberland Farms is available online at www. cumberlandfarms.com.
