This Easter weekend family members of the four legged variety are invited to have a special K9 Easter Egg Hunt all their own at Hudson Crossing Park in Schuylerville. In what has become a fun annual tradition, colorful plastic eggs filled with dog treats (courtesy of Ballston Spa’s Lazy Dog Cookie Company) for your favorite canine will be hidden throughout Hudson Crossing Park grounds. Hudson Crossing’s K9 Easter Egg Hunt is open to the public and their pups during regular park hours (dawn - dusk) on Saturday, March 31, and Sunday, April 1, while the Easter Eggs last. NATIONAL MUSEUM OF RACING: Coinciding with the Florida Derby, the National Museum of Racing will host a Saturday Social in the Hall of Fame on March 31. Museum visitors will be treated to coffee and doughnuts and receive a historical stakes history of the Grade I Florida Derby, as well as past performances for the 2018 edition of the race. The Saturday Social event will also feature a brief discussion of the 2018 Florida Derby with Brien Bouyea, the Museum’s director of communications. 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Hall of Fame, 191 Union Avenue, Saratoga Springs. Cost included with Museum admission, always free for Museum Members OPERA-TO-GO: Opera Saratoga’s Opera-to-Go productions allow students to experience the thrill of opera - up close and personal. Opera Saratoga’s production of “The Ugly Duckling” is a retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fairy tale, with an original score by composer Andrew Duncan, feature soprano Carter Tholl, mezzo soprano Raphaella Medina, tenor Jordan Pitts, and baritone Nicholas Martorano. Brian Gilling serves as the music director and pianist. In addition to Opera Saratoga’s in-school performances, free public performances of “The Ugly Duckling” ensure families throughout the region have access to opera. A performance will be held on March 31 at 11 a.m. at Saratoga Springs Public Library, 49 Henry St., Saratoga Springs.
