ALBANY, N.Y. » For the second consecutiv­e week and fourth time this season, University at Albany women’s lacrosse midfielder Kendra Harbinger is the America East Rookie of the Week.

The Clifton Park, native scored four goals and added an assist in this past Saturday’s 23-5 win over Hartford in the league opener for both teams. It was Harbinger’s third consecutiv­e games with at least three goals.

Harbinger now leads the Great Danes with 21 goals on the season, and she’s tied for the team lead with 26 draw controls.

She previously was named the league’s Rookie of the Week on March 19, March 5 and Feb. 19.

The Great Danes next play Saturday, when they host Binghamton in an America East game at Casey Stadium. The opening draw is scheduled for 1 p.m. Siena 15, Iona 2/ Siena 3, Iona 2 >. Siena Baseball secured its first two victories of 2018and commenced conference action triumphant with a doublehead­er sweep of Iona. The Saints slugged their way to a convincing 15-2victory in the MAAC opener, before clinching the series with a 3-2 win in the nightcap at City Park in New Rochelle, New York. Junior Brian Kelly and sophomore Jonathan Crimmin tallied five hits apiece on the afternoon to lead a balanced offensive barrage for Siena (2-17, 2-0) which amassed 34 base runners and 24total hits in the sweep. Sophomore right fielder Zach Durfee (Ballston Spa/ Ballston Spa H.S.) went 2-for-5with a run scored and two RBI for Siena, including a triple in the opener. Junior center fielder Matt Hammel (Gansevoort/Christian Brothers Academy) went 2-for-4, scoring two runs and driving in two runs for the Saints in the first contest.
