Shen grad, UAlbany’s Kendra Harbinger sets freshman scoring record

Freshman midfielder Kendra Harbinger’s record-setting performanc­e and senior attacker Emma Powlin’s six goals helped the University at Albany women’s lacrosse team stay unbeaten in the America East with a 17-8 victory over Vermont in Burlington. The Great Danes (4-7, 3-0 America East) won their fourth straight overall.

finished with seven goals and two assists – a nine-point game that establishe­s a new program record for a freshman. Her seven goals also tied for third-most in program history by a player in any class. “We got off to a slow start, but Erin made some huge saves that led to three important goals from Kyla to swing the momentum in our favor,” Interim head coach Jessica Davos said. “As the half wore on, the defense made some key stops, and the attack really started to click. was once again recognized for their outstandin­g performanc­e in the classroom being named as a Scholar All-America Team by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Associatio­n of America. The team gained recognitio­n for its cumulative GPA for the fall semester. Overall, the women are being recognized for a 13th time including four consecutiv­e fall semesters. The women finished its fall with a GPA of 3.02. The women were one of six conference schools to attain the honor.
