SARATOGA SPRINGS - David “Mickey” E. McKenzie, Jr., 76, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Sunday, April 8, 2018. A beloved husband, father and grandfathe­r, he always looked at his family with love in his eyes, right to the end. Born on September 21, 1941 in Burlington, VT, he was the son of the late David E. McKenzie, Sr. and Beatrice (Mahoney) McKenzie. David proudly served in the US Navy and received an honorable discharge in 1962. He worked in the medical supply industry for more than 40 years. An avid NY Yankee fan, David shared his love of baseball with his kids and grandkids delivering a Yankee hat to each of them on the day they were born. He was a St. Mary’s Catholic Church parish member for many years. In addition to his parents, he was predecease­d by his brother Edward (Murph) McKenzie, his cousin John Terrien and close friend Ruth Tymocko. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years Anne (Dragon) McKenzie; children and grandchild­ren Alicia (Ken) Baker, Alex and Andrew of Delmar, Kara (Gene) Waters, Olivia, Max and Faith of Saratoga Springs, Ryan (Lori) McKenzie, Jack, Macey and Mickey of Hudson Falls; siblings Jane Putzier, Ann Marie Dewyea, and Jim McKenzie of Vermont; nieces, nephews, cousin June Terrien and close friend John Tymocko and his family.

Relatives and friends may call from 9:30am to 11:30am Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 North Broadway, Saratoga Springs (518-5845373). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12noon at St. Mary’s Church, Milton Ave., Ballston Spa and burial with military honors will follow at 2pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylervi­lle. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jan and the kind and caring staff on 2 Victoria, Wesley Nursing Home. Donations may be made in David’s memory to the Alzheimer’s and Dementia Program on 2 Victoria at The Wesley Health Care Center, 131 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
