LITTLE ELM, TEXAS - Joan C. Wilson, 72, of Little Elm, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018, after a lengthy illness. Joan was born September 7, 1945 in Granville, New York. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Pauline (Loveland) Woodell. Joan was educated at Washington Academy, Salem New York, Adirondack Hudson Community College and Collin County College, where she was president of the Honor Society. She was raised in the Presbyteri­an faith, member of the choir, fellowship, community services and worked a summer mission in Kayenta, Arizona. Joan was a locally renowned quilter and a leader in both Quilters Guild of Plano and the Quilters Guild of Dallas. She was the proprietor of Grammy’s Creations where she designed and made custom artistic quilts for many notable customers in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Prior to this Joan was successful business woman. She was District Sales Manager for Avon Products in Pennsylvan­ia and Tennessee. She was a successful real estate broker in Tennessee and Virginia, and a major multi-unit account manager for Manpower Temporary Services in Dallas. Joan is survived by her husband of 51 years Richard. She is also survived by her daughter Audrey N. Wilson of Plano, Texas and her son Eric D. Wilson, his wife Kimberly and their children Bailey and Ethan of McKinney, Texas. Joan is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Darlene Vaughn and her husband Dallas of Klamath Falls Oregon, Shelby Woodell of Harriman, Tennessee, Sharlisa Woodell and her companion Rory Birrell of Queensbury, New York, Dorothea Robinson of Fort Ann, New York, Randy Woodell and his wife, Sheila, of Harriman, Tennessee, Calen Woodell of Harriman, Tennessee, Mark A. Woodell and his wife, Eva, of Salem, New York and Lea Ritchie of Fort Ann New York. Visitation will be held Friday, April 13th from 6 - 8 p.m. at Stonebriar Funeral Home, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco Texas. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 14th 11 a.m. at Stonebriar Funeral Home. A private interment will be at the Dallas Forth Worth National Cemetery.
